Retro is not very popular with many people, especially if it is not fashionable. But when it comes to cocktails, retro is still relevant.
We've selected some great retro cocktails that are drinks of choice to this day.
And May 13th is world cocktail day, so let's say Cheers and thank all the bartenders who have contributed to the world cocktail history.
The roots of the first alcoholic drink can be traced back to 1806 in South America, where someone thought of diluting liquor with various other additives. To date, however, the cocktail hall of fame has its favorites. Here they are.
Tom Collins
It's the combination of gin and fizzy lemonade. The cocktail originated in 1874.
40 ml of gin
40 ml of lemon juice
1 tsp. sweet and sour mix
soda
Add everything except the soda into a shaker, shake and pour it into a glass with ice. Add some soda and garnish with slices of orange and cherry.
Sidecar
This cocktail dates back to the First World War. Includes light citrus aromas and Canadian whiskey. The cocktail was created for the US Army Captain. This drink warmed the body and supplied it with vitamin C. And let's not forget that the captain was known for riding on the sidecar of a motorcycle, which gives the cocktail its name.
30 ml whiskey
triple sec
60 ml sweet and sour mix
lime
ice
Add triple sec, the mix and ice to the whiskey. Pour into a chilled cocktail glass, to which you have added sugar on the rim. Garnish with lime.
Piña Colada
It came from the island of Puerto Rico in the middle of the year 150. The ingredients are pineapple, rum and coconut liqueur
40 ml of rum
170 ml pina colada mix
A slice of pineapple and a few cherries for decoration.
Add rum into a blender with crushed ice. Blend well, until a smooth mixture is obtained. Garnish with pineapple and cherry.
Burban Hot Toddy
It is very suitable for winter weather and colds. It is believed to have originated in Scotland as far back as the 1700s.
40 ml of bourbon
1 teaspoon of sugar
clove tips
40 ml of boiling water
Add everything to the boiling water and stir.
Manhattan Cocktail
Everyone agrees that the cocktail was born in New York and dates back to the mid-1800s.
40 ml of bourbon
50 ml of sweet vermouth
1 teaspoon of cherry juice
Fill 3/4 of the shaker with crushed ice, add the rest of the ingredients and shake well. Garnish with cherries.
White Russian Cocktail
The White Rush cocktail is associated with the Bolsheviks during the Russian Civil War. They were also known as the whites.
20 ml of coffee or cappuccino liqueur
30 ml of vodka
50 ml of milk or cream
In a glass filled with ice, add the liqueur and vodka. Stir and add the cream.
Dirty Martini
This incredibly easy cocktail has been popular in bars for over 70 years.
40 ml of vodka
40 ml olive brine
Add the vodka and brine to a shaker with ice, shake and strain into a glass. Garnish with olives.
