Chicken soup is not only a delicious dish that we associate with family comfort and warmth, but a real elixir of health, used in the fight against colds and flu for centuries.
Historical records show that physicians began to highly recommend the soup as a medicine in the twelfth century. To this day, some still remain skeptical of its properties, but others continue to consume it when they feel they have a cold.
As a rule, the classic chicken soup in addition to chicken contains onions, carrots, garlic, parsley, dill, black pepper. (Salt can also be added, but large quantities of it should not be added.)
According to experts, each of these ingredients has a healing effect not only for colds and flu, but also for bronchitis and angina. The products in chicken soup are rich in vitamin A, vitamin C, E, zinc, iron and many other substances.
The steam carried by the freshly prepared soup clears the obstructed airways and facilitates the release of stubborn tough secretions. Chicken soup has also been shown to relieve inflammation.
Note, however, that for this chicken soup it is best to use organic chicken meat as well as organic vegetables. But if you do not have the opportunity to get such products, you can cook store bought products.
