The most commonly used mushrooms in cooking are field mushrooms. They have a pleasant taste and their caps are white or brownish-yellow colored / the so-called brown field mushrooms. They are low in calories and suitable for immediate consumption.
The first thing you need to do when processing mushrooms is to wash them carefully. Their caps are pulled off lightly if necessary and the stumps are separated. It is advisable not to use water when cleaning mushrooms, but a special brush to remove the dirt. When you wash mushrooms with water, they absorb it, which has a bad effect on their taste.
Stewed mushrooms are cooked whole or cut into slices. The stumps are also cut into circles or into slices. Mushrooms can also be used to make decorations.
Not many strong spices are used to prepare Stewed mushrooms in order to preserve their original taste and aroma.
For preparing the stewed mushrooms you need:
mushrooms - 1.1 lb (500 g)
onions - 1 whole onion
oil - 3 tbsp.
chopped parsley
salt and black pepper
Clean the mushrooms - the lower part of the stumps is cut, wash and dry them. Cut them into smaller pieces. Finely chop the onion and fry in oil until translucent.
Add the chopped mushrooms and season with as much salt and black pepper as you like. Pour a little water and while stirring occasionally, simmer until soft. Sprinkle with parsley.
With mushrooms you can also prepare mushrooms in butter, mushroom soup, mushroom pate, and why not marinated mushrooms.
