Here are the rules to follow when determining the sugar content of wine:
- To make homemade white wine, its sugar content should be between 19 and 21%, but this amount should not be exceeded;
- To make red wine - it should be between 20 and 22%.
How sugar content is calculated
When one kilogram of sugar is added to 100 kg of grape mash. In this way you can easily calculate the amount of sugar needed to obtain the percentages we mentioned above;
Once you have already calculated how much sugar you need, it should be dissolved in a small amount of the grape mash and only then added to the total amount, it is recommended that after the sugar is added, it should be stirred very well, so that the sugar can dissolve well.
