Pizza is a gift from Italian cuisine that occupies a place of honor in world cuisine. The name pizza has Latin roots and its meaning is directly translated as bread. It is a product, made out of dough, in the shape of a circle, which has more voluminous crispy edges and is prepared by baking.
Today pizza recipes are countless and it is a dish that allows the use of imagination and experimentation with different products.
One ingredient, that is equally necessary, regardless of the type of pastry is pizza sauce.
How to make pizza sauce
The Classic Pizza Sauce
If we had to associate pizza with only one sauce, it would undoubtedly be tomato sauce. It is spread on the pizza immediately before it is baked and the characteristic red color is due to it.
For it you need:
- 0.9 lb (400 g) of canned tomatoes;
- 2 cloves of garlic;
- 6 basil leaves;
- 1 tbsp. of honey;
- salt;
- black pepper;
- olive oil.
The first step is to puree the tomatoes in a blender. At the same time, finely chop the garlic and fry it with olive oil on medium heat in the pan. After a few minutes, add the tomato and season with basil, black pepper, honey and salt.
Cook for about 20 minutes and your sauce is ready.
