How to make
Mix all the dry products. Mix the other products thoroughly in a separate bowl. Then combine the two bowls and stir until the mixture becomes smooth and homogeneous.
Pour the pudding mixture into a deep bowl greased with butter but not all the way to the top. Cover the bowl with foil, make folds in the middle so that there's room for the swollen pudding.
Place the bowl in a water bath so that the water reaches 2/3 of the height of the bowl. Boil the pudding for 4 hours, add more hot water from time to time, to prevent it from burning.
Serve the pudding with a sauce made from the butter melted on the stove and mixed with the sugar and brandy.
