  • water - 1 1/5 cups (300 ml) warm
  • yeast - 1, dry
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • flour - 3 cups (700 g)
  • oil - 4 tablespoons

How to make

Pour the water, sugar, yeast and several tsp flour in a bowl. Stir and leave to effervesce.

Pour in 1/2 the flour, add the oil, salt and effervescent yeast, stir well.

Gradually add the rest of the flour and once it becomes difficult to stir, start kneading.

Since all flours are different you may have to add more or have some left over. Knead the dough until it stops sticking to your fingers and becomes as soft as the lower part of your ear. Leave it to rise well, then take it out and divide into 2 parts.

Form the bread buns. Grease your tray or lay it out with baking paper and put the buns in it. Leave them to rise again, sprinkle with flour and make several cuts on top so they bake well.

Bake in a preheated 320°F (160 °C) oven with a bowl of water in the corner of the oven - it's going to evaporate and make the crust crispier.

Bake until reddened. Do not wrap with a towel after taking them out of the oven.
