  • cake layer
  • eggs - 4
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • flour - 1 1/2 cups + 1 baking powder
  • vanilla - 1
  • syrup
  • water - 4/5 cup (200 ml)
  • sugar - 2 cups
  • cocoa - 2 tbsp
  • butter - 1/5 cup (60 g)
  • coconut flakes - for sprinkling

How to make

Making the cake layer:

Beat the eggs with the sugar. Then, add the flour to which you've added the baking powder. Next, add the vanilla. Pour all this into a small, oiled oven dish and bake at 300°F (150 °C).

Check to see if it's ready with a toothpick. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready. Take it out of the oven and leave to cool very well.

Making the syrup:

While the cake layer is cooling, put all the ingredients for the syrup in a pot and stir until you get a slightly thickened syrup.

After the cake layer cools, poke holes in it with a pencil and pour on the cooled syrup. Sprinkle with coconut flakes on top.
