How to make
Pour the jam into a casserole and heat it up on the stove. If it's too runny, stir on low heat until it thickens. Then pour it into a 8″ (20 cm) in diameter oven dish.
In a bowl, beat the eggs, butter, sugar, flour and almond essence until homogeneous. Add the walnuts and stir well.
Pour the mixture on top of the jam and even it out. Sprinkle with the sliced almonds. Bake in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven about 50 min, and check to see if it's ready with a toothpick.
Once it's ready, sprinkle with powdered sugar. You can serve it with whipped cream and fragrant red wine.
