  • butter - 6 oz (170 g)
  • powdered sugar - 6 oz (170 g)
  • eggs - 5
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • almond flour - 6 oz (170 g)
  • dark chocolate - 6 oz (170 g), 50% cocoa
  • cocoa - 0.5 oz (14 g)
  • corn starch - 1.4 oz (40 g)
  • baking powder - 1/2 tbsp (5 g)
  • orange peel - 1 tsp. grated
  • vanilla essence - 1 tsp.

How to make

In a bowl, beat the softened butter with the powdered sugar until fluffy. While beating continuously, add the egg yolks one at a time.

In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients: almond flour, grated dark chocolate, cocoa, starch, baking powder, grated orange peel and vanilla.

Mix them well, then transfer them to the beaten mixture in parts. Stir until the ingredients are combined well.

Beat the egg whites with a pinch of salt until stiff peaks form. Transfer them to the remaining products and carefully mix again by stirring with the spatula.

Cover a detachable cake mold with baking paper and pour the mixture in it.

Place the chocolate cake in a preheated oven at 340°F (170°C) and bake for about 50 minutes or until fully baked.

Sprinkle the baked Easy Italian Torta Caprese with powdered sugar.
