Ingredients

  • For the sponge cake layer
  • eggs - 4
  • sugar - 1/2 cup
  • butter - 2.3 oz (65 g)
  • milk - 1/4 cup
  • flour - 1 and 1/4 cups
  • baking powder - 1 tbsp (10 g)
  • lemon peel - the peel of one lemon
  • For the syrup
  • sugar - 1/2 cup
  • water - 1/2 cup (the measuring cup has a volume of 250 ml)
  • lemon juice - juice of 1/2 lemon
  • For the decoration
  • confectionery cream - 6.8 fl oz (200 ml) liquid
  • cocoa - 2 tbsp.
  • coconut shavings - for sprinkling

How to make

Beat the butter with the sugar, add the eggs, milk and lemon peel. Finally, pour the flour sifted with baking powder.

The mixture is transferred into a baking pan on greased baking paper. Bake at 360°F (180°C) for 20 minutes.

The syrup is made by mixing water and sugar in a saucepan.

Boil for five minutes, remove it from the heat and add lemon juice. The syrup is cooled and poured over the cooled sponge cake layer.

The sponge cake layer is cut into pieces.

The cream is beaten with the cocoa, sprinkled over the pastries and sprinkled with coconut shavings.

The easy syrupy pastries are ready.
