"Bring a little exoticness to your table with this Indian Bhatura Bubble Bread."

Ingredients

  • flour - 4/5 cup (200 g) + some more for the floured surface
  • yoghurt - 1 tablespoon
  • oil - 1 tablespoon + some for frying
  • yeast - 1 1/3 tsp (7 g) dry
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • cumin - 1 tsp, ground
  • water - 1/3 cup (80 ml) of warm
measures

How to make

Mix the flour, salt, cumin and yeast together. Add the yoghurt and water and gradually knead a smooth dough that needs to rise for 20 minutes in a warm place. Knead the dough once again and divide it into 8 balls.

Roll out each ball thinly into a small circle on a floured surface. Immediately fry them in preheated oil, which needs to cover the bread, flipping to fry on both sides.

While frying, they swell and become like a balloon. Freshly fried Indian Bhatura bubble bread is hard, but after about 2 minutes, it softens.
