How to make
In a bowl, sift the flour with the baking powder.
Add the coarsely ground walnuts and sugar. Stir well to combine all the ingredients. Add the oil, the water and finally the cherry jam.
Stir gently, in order to keep the fruit whole.
Grease a cake tin (8″ = 20 cm) with oil and sprinkle it with flour.
Pour the mixture and put in a heated oven. Bake the sponge cake at 360°F (180°C), for about 40-45 minutes.
Take it out and allow the vegan sponge cake to cool. Transfer it into a plate and sprinkle it with powdered sugar.
The vegan cake with walnuts and jam is ready.
