"You probably ate traditional linzers with marmalade as a child and you can also do that now, by making them yourself"

Ingredients

  • flour - 1.1 lb (500 g)
  • butter - 9 oz (250 g)
  • powdered sugar - 7 oz (200 g)
  • eggs - 3 pcs. (yolks only)
  • lemon peel - 1 lemon
  • jam
measures

How to make

Sift the flour into a deep bowl. Add the butter, powdered sugar, grated lemon peel and egg yolks.

Gradually knead a soft butter dough, which you need to shape into a ball and wrap with fresh foil. Refrigerate it for at least 2-3 hours.

If the dough is very dry and crumbly, add 1 more egg yolk.

Roll out the chilled dough onto a floured surface, by thinning the crust to 0.2″ (5 mm).

Cut out circles and in half of them, cut out additional figures with small cookie cutters - hearts, stars, flowers and others.

Arrange all the cookies on a tray lined with baking paper and put it in an oven heated to 340°F (170°C) for about 8 minutes.

Once they have cooled, stick the cookies together with jam of your choice.

The traditional linzers with marmalade are ready.
