How to cook
In a bowl, sift the flour with the spices and baking powder. Beat the butter with the sugar. Add the egg to them and beat well. Add the mixture to the dry mixture and knead it into a soft dough.
Wrap it in foil and leave the dough in the fridge for an hour or two. Take it out and roll it out onto a floured surface.
Cut out the cookies with cookie cutters of your choice. Arrange them on a baking pan lined with baking paper. Bake at 360°F (180°C) for about 8 minutes (do not bake them for too long). Take them out and leave them to cool. Then decorate them with fondant in different colors.
Note: The number is indicative, it depends on their size. The same goes for the baking time, it depends on your oven. Just keep an eye on them - once they turn aquire an golden brown color, take them out.
If your dough is very sticky and you have a hard time moving the cookies into the baking pan, you can roll them out directly onto the paper, cut out the cookie shapes and remove the excess dough.
Move the paper with the gingerbread cookies into the baking pan and bake them.
The gingerbread cookies with fondant are ready.
