How to make
In a large bowl, sift the flour with a pinch of salt and a pinch of baking powder.
Add the cold butter (cut into pieces), the 2 yolks, 2 tablespoons of milk, the sugar and the grated orange peel to it.
Knead a soft butter dough. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate it for an hour.
Prepare larger tartlet molds. It is not necessary to grease them, the dough is greasy enough and after baking there is no problem removing them from the molds.
Roll out the dough into a thickness of 0.16″ (4 mm). Cut circles slightly larger than the diameter of the molds.
Place the cut dough circles in the molds and form a high border by pressing the dough lightly against the sides. Pierce the bottom with a fork.
Pour 2-3 tsp. of plum marmalade. Level it out and put a star cut out shape of the dough on top.
Bake the Christmas Crostata at 360°F (180°C) in a preheated oven, until an appetizing color is obtained.
Wait for them to cool and then remove from the molds. Sprinkle them with powdered sugar mixed with vanilla!
Note: From the same dough, you can cut different sized stars and stick them together with marmalade!
Enjoy! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
