"Who thinks about the main course when they know, that an aromatic dessert with a strawberry roll and cream is waiting for them in the fridge"

Ingredients

  • eggs - 4 pcs.
  • sugar - 4 tbsp.
  • flour - 4 tbsp.
  • vanilla - 1 powder
  • strawberry jam - 1 jar
  • for the cream
  • milk - 1 2/3 cups (400 ml)
  • sugar - 5.3 oz (150 g)
  • egg yolks - 4 pcs.
  • flour - 2.1 oz (60 g)
  • cream - 2/5 cup (100 ml) unsweetened
  • vanilla - 1 powder
  • strawberries (for garnish)

How to make

Crack the eggs into a large bowl, add the sugar and beat with a mixer, until a fluffy cream is obtained.

Mix the flour and vanilla. In portions, add them to the egg mixture, by stirring gently with a spoon from the bottom to the top.

Do NOT add a leavening agent to the mixture, just beat it well with the mixer.

Line the large oven tray with baking paper. Grease it lightly. Pour the cake mix and level it out.

Bake the sponge cake layer at 390°F (200°C) in a preheated oven for 5-8 minutes.

Turn the baked sponge cake layer onto a damp cloth. Remove the paper and using the cloth roll it up. Leave it to cool completely.

Unroll the cooled sponge cake layer, spread it with strawberry jam and roll it up again.

While the sponge cake layer is cooling, make the cream.

Pour the milk into a small pot, add the sugar, egg yolks and flour. Put the bowl on the stove and stir the cream, until it thickens.

Remove the finished cream from the heat, flavor it with vanilla and leave it to cool.

Whip the cream and add it to the dairy cream in portions.

Cut the strawberry jam roll into about 0.8″ (2 cm) rolls.

Arrange them in a suitable container and pour them with the cream!

Garnish your Strawberry Roll with strawberries and cream!
