Ingredients

  • shrimp - 0.9 lb (400 g) easy peel
  • butter - 1/2 tbsp.
  • olive oil - 1 - 2 tbsp.
  • garlic - 1 - 2 cloves
  • black pepper
  • salt
  • ouzo - for flambéing
  • dill - optional

How to make

Chose large shrimp, or the so called easy peel shrimp for this recipe.

Marinate the shrimp with olive oil, black pepper and salt to taste, and chill.

Heat the butter in a thick bottom pan and saute the garlic for a few seconds. Remove the garlic and add the shrimp.

Cook at moderate heat for about 2-3 minutes, set the pan aside, add the ouzo and ignite carefully.

Return to the stove, cover with a lid and allow the shrimp to cook for a couple of minutes, until they turn pink. Serve with a fresh salad of your preference.

The Shrimp Flambe with Ouzo are ready.
