measures

How to make

In a medium bowl, mix 1 cup of milk with the cornstarch and rose water. Stir until you have a smooth mixture.

Pour 3 cups of milk and thick sour cream into a medium-sized pot.

Add the sugar and let it simmer, while stirring constantly. Once the milk boils, turn off the heat and add the cornstarch to the mixture. Boil it for 3-4 minutes.

Pour it into serving bowls. Immediately cover them with a plastic wrap and let them cool down to room temperature, then cool them for at least 4 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.

Make the syrup:

Boil the water, sugar and rose water in a saucepan over medium heat.

When it boils, add the food coloring. Boil it for another 2 minutes and turn off the heat. Allow it to cool completely.

When the delicious Malabi has cooled, pour 1-2 tablespoons of syrup over the Serbian Malabi, add the crushed peanuts or pistachios and chopped coconut (optional).
