Ingredients

  • eggs - 4
  • butter - 1 cup, melted
  • sugar - 2 1/2 cups
  • flour - 3 cups
  • carrots - 3 cup, finely grated
  • walnuts - 1 cup, ground
  • lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
  • vanilla - 1 packet
  • cinnamon - 2 tsp
  • cloves - 3 buds, crushed
  • baking powder - 2 tsp
  • salt - 1 1/2 tsp

How to make

Grate the carrots finely, mix them with crushed walnuts and put them to heat briefly in a hot oven to dry. Beat the sugar and eggs well and add the melted butter, carrots, walnuts, cinnamon, cloves, baking powder, vanilla, lemon zest and salt.

Once they are mixed well, start adding the sifted flour while stirring. Put the mixture into a greased and floured cake form and put it to bake in a moderately preheated oven for 40-45 minutes. Serve the pie with carrots cooled.
