How to make

The aromatic herb is also known as grandmother's thyme, volenica, mother's thyme, mahra, shepherd's basil, licorice, sherka, apple spice.

It is found in rocky places, illuminated by the sun's rays. Blooms from May to July.

We collect the herb from clean places in sunny weather.

Then the essential oils are the strongest. They contain organic acids, flavonoids, tannins and bitter substances, mineral salts and vitamin C.

Dried in the shade, thyme has a shelf life of 3 years, and the chopped herb - 2 years.

Cover two tablespoons of the herb with 2 cups boiling filtered or spring water. Boil the liquid for 10-15 minutes.

The herbal decoction is taken in three equal parts during the day, preferably before meals. We sweeten the aromatic tea with honey - bee or forest money.

In Bulgarian folk medicine, the aromatic herb is used for all types of cough, intestinal diseases, mainly of nervous origin, chronic gastritis, gastric ulcers, colic and gas in the intestines, neurasthenia, headache, intestinal parasitic diseases.

It is used for helping the heart activity, shortness of breath on nervous soil, lack of appetite in children, anemia, heartburn.

The rich healing effect of the herb is due to its essential oils, tannins and some other compounds.
