"Do you know where they make the most delicious mekitsi in the world? Yep thats right - in Godech."

Ingredients

  • flour - 1 1/5 cups (300 g)
  • eggs - 3
  • yoghurt - 1 cup (250 g)
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • oil - 4/5 cup (200 ml)
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling

How to make

Using the twice-sifted flour, salt, beaten eggs, and baking soda mixed with the yoghurt, knead a firm dough. Sprinkle it with flour and leave it in a warm place for 30 minutes to rest.

Roll out a 1/4 thick sheet from the dough. Use a glass, knife or shapes to cut out mekitsi, then fry them on both sides in preheated oil.

Serve these mekitsi sprinkled with powdered sugar.
