How to make
At the bottom of a dry container (preferably wooden), put a 1/8 (3 mm) layer of salt. Arrange the bacon pieces on top, 4″ (10 cm) square cuts.
Lay on finely chopped leeks, paprika, 1-2 bay leaves and salt on top. Place another layer of bacon and continue until out of ingredients.
Pour on water to cover it and press down with a stone. Store in a cold area.
