A curious fact is that a large number of Italian pizza chefs do not approve of putting tens of different ingredients in a pizza because this ruins the magic of the dough product. For example, nowhere in Italy will you find pizza with pineapple, since this is an entirely American spin on it.

1. Margherita pizza
"Margherita" is the classic type of pizza, prepared with relatively few ingredients - fresh tomato slices, parmesan, mozzarella, garlic. Italians prefer it due to its low calories in comparison to the other types. Traditionally it is baked in an oven with wood.
2. Neapolitana pizza
It is the most authentic and was created in the birthplace of pizza - Naples. It contains tomatoes, garlic, basil, oregano, mozzarella and anchovies - products typical of the region.
3. Quattro formaggi pizza
In translation, its name means "four cheeses" and contains, besides tomato sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, Gorgonzola and Provolone. To top it off, a thin trickle of olive oil is poured on.
4. Pizza with prosciutto
As evident from the name itself, this pizza contains the "prosciutto" ham, popular in Italy, aside from tomatoes and olive oil. Italian cheese is also added, preferably Ricotta.
Often, however, it is substituted with mozzarella, being more popular and widely available. In some regions of Italy, they complement the full taste of the ingredients with fresh arugula leaves.
