You can use patience or a do-it-yourself device to wash the lentils. For this you usually need a bottle on which you have pierced the cap. With a funnel pour the lentils in it and fill it with water.

There are two options - to first put on, a non-pierced cap and shake it firmly, and then to replace the cap with the pierced one and use it to pour the water out through it. The other option is to use only the cap with the holes, but you need to only gently shake. Repeat this several times.

Another option that is most common is to wash the lentils in a colander and let them drain.

After washing the lentils, soak them for a few hours. An hour or two is enough, but if you soak them for too long, sprouts may appear.

After washing and soaking the lentils, they will cook faster and you will be sure that there are no unwanted compounds such as phytic acid or poor quality waste, which are also found in modern goods.
