Stewing spinach takes a while. I can say that if you stew it in larger quantities, washing and cutting it may take longer than stewing itself.
Start by soaking it in water for 15-20 minutes. Then remove its roots, if necessary, if the stems are very thick, you can remove them as well. Then wash it well under running water. If the spinach is homegrown and picked from the garden, there is a high probability that there is a lot of soil on it, so you should be careful - it is not good for your guests or relatives to find soil or some small pebbles, so it is good to soak in water beforehand.
Before moving on to stewing the vegetable, it's a good idea to cut it into strips, unless you need the whole spinach leaves for your recipe. Put the chopped or whole leaves of spinach in a large pan, as its initial size is much larger.
You can stew spinach with some type of fat you normally use or with water. If you use fat, you need to heat it before adding the spinach and if you prefer water, you can add the spinach and then pour a little water over it.
Close the pan with a lid so it can stew better. After 2-3 minutes, stir and leave it for a few more minutes until it's ready. Before removing it from the heat, add salt, black pepper, paprika or any other favorite spices of your choice.
You can add any kind of vegetables to it for more flavor. Spinach is a great supplement to rice, quinoa or bulgur.
