Spinach originates from the family Amaranthaceae and is one of the preferred leafy greens.
Fresh spinach spoils very quickly, the shelf life is only a few days. To extend the shelf life of spinach, you must store fresh spinach properly.
First, you need to put it in a container with water, but do not wash it and put it in the refrigerator or in a cold place. It can be stored in this condition for 1 week. For a longer shelf life spinach is frozen in a freezer in this state, the time increases to several months.
If in autumn, the fresh green leafy vegetable can be packed in a plastic bag - the package must be tightly tied and in the refrigerator and the green leaves will not lose either the aroma or color and will retain more vitamins.
Wrap the washed and dried spinach leaves in cling film for easy packing and storage and refrigerate. For longer storage, bags with membranes, jars with membrane caps, which maintain a constant microclimate inside, can also be used.
Vacuum vessels are sold with a pump. It is the best solution for keeping food and vegetables fresh.
