How Long Do Mushrooms Last in the Fridge for?

The culinary world is unthinkable without a basic product like mushrooms. These products have permanent benefits for the body and in addition, they have remarkable taste qualities, which gives them a central place in a number of recipes.

Mushrooms, however, represent one of the most demanding products in terms of storage conditions. This is especially true for the temperature.

Given the fact, that mushrooms can become toxic to the body if they spoil, then it becomes even more important to pay attention to their proper storage.

You can ensure, that the mushrooms will stay fresh in the refrigerator if you prepare them in advance. This is done by placing them in a paper bag and then wrapping them in an even larger paper bag. You need to pierce it in several places to leave the mushrooms to breathe.

Avoid washing or cutting mushrooms before refrigerating them, since this can speed up spoilage. Thanks to the cold temperatures in the refrigerator, mushrooms can be stored for several days. Nevertheless, it is not advisable to keep them for more than 2-3 days.

It is also advisable to avoid placing foods near the mushrooms. These products are able to absorb the smell and subsequently emit it themselves.

And if you don't want mushrooms to linger in your fridge, cook them immediately by preparing:

- mushroom sauce;

- mushroom pizza;

- mushroom soup;

- salads with mushrooms.
