Green beans are the unripe, green pods of beans. In the summer, when beans are commonly found in gardens and markets, it is easy to prepare, but in the winter it is a difficult task.
Canning green beans is easy. There are two very easy ways to can them.
In the first, the beans are cleaned from tips and stems. Blanch them in boiling, salted water. Fill the green beans in jars and finally add some of the water in which the beans were blanched.
The jars are sealed and arranged in a pot. After boiling the water, time 30 minutes and remove the jars from the heat.
The second way to can green beans is also very easy. The green beans are again cleaned from the stems and tips. Each pod is cut into 2 or 3 depending on the length.
The already chopped beans are put to boil in boiling water. Add chopped onion, carrot, paprika and a few cloves of garlic and prepare the most common green bean soup.
When ready, fill it into jars and seal them. The jars of green beans are boiled for 30 minutes.
Prepared this way, the beans are ready for a quick dinner. Just open the jar, pour it into a pot with a little more water and cook it in the traditional way and dinner is ready.
You can also use canned green beans for classic dishes such as green beans with pork, roasted green beans, green beans with potatoes. Green bean stew is also a classic.
