You can make homemade strained yogurt at home. You can prepare your favorite delicacies with it. For this you will need a few buckets of yogurt with a high percentage of fat, a large piece of cheesecloth or gauze, a bowl, a large and tall pot and a long wooden spoon.
Place the gauze in a bowl, which has been pre-moistened and squeezed, by leaving the four ends hanging outside the bowl. Pour the buckets of milk, then tie the opposite sides. Tied in this way, it is hung with a wooden spoon, then placed to hang over the pot and the gauze shouldn't touch the bottom.
Leave it in the refrigerator overnight to drain. You can then prepare your favorite delicacies with strained yogurt, such as strained yogurt with walnuts and honey.
You can also prepare breaded strained yogurt. You will need about 400 grams of strained yogurt, 150 grams of flour and that much breadcrumbs, 3 eggs, as much black pepper and salt as you like, dill, a few cloves of garlic and frying oil.
This strained yogurt is prepared by mixing the yogurt with the finely chopped dill, black pepper and salt. Beat the eggs separately. Pour the flour in a bowl and the breadcrumbs in another. Take a spoonful of the yogurt and carefully roll it in the flour, then in the eggs and finally in the breadcrumbs. Fry it in the heated fat until it aquires a golden color and then place it onto kitchen paper to absorb the excess fat. Serve it warm.
