How Long is Homemade Pate Boiled for?

Homemade pate is one of the most delicious homemade foods. Homemade pate is made from liver (mainly pork), bacon, breadcrumbs, eggs, milk, salt and of course spices to emphasize its taste.

To prepare homemade pate, grate the liver and bacon on a fine grater, add the breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, spices, mix everything well and blend them until you have a smooth and fine pate like the store bought ones.

The finished mixture is distributed in jars (it is recommended that the jars have ordinary caps, not the screw on ones), close them well, arrange them in a pot and pour enough water, (about 10 cm above the jars themselves) which will be enough for 3 hours. The homemade pate is boiled for that long.

The sterilized homemade pate is stored in a cool, dark place and its shelf life is quite long when closed this way. For me personally, 2-year-old jars were absolutely fit for consumption and the pate preserved its qualities.
