  • flour - 2 1/2 cups
  • yeast - 1/4 cube
  • sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • water - 1 cup
  • oil - 1 tsp + some for frying and greasing your hands and container
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • powdered sugar - for sprinkling

How to make

Sift the flour. Dilute the yeast well in the slightly warmed water. Put the yeast and sugar in the water. Make a well in the flour and pour the water with yeast in it. Add 1 pinch salt and 1 tsp oil to the well.

Knead the dough onto a floured counter. After kneading it, put it in an oiled container to rise well for about 2 hours. The dough will puff up and increase significantly in volume. Pour a little oil in small bowl.

Pour oil in a pan on the stove. Once it heats up, tear pieces from the dough with oiled hands and stretch them, forming each into a circle. Your thumb needs to be on the outer side. Fry in the oil.
