"A slightly different, yet very delicious, take on our favorite revani. It doesn`t feel nearly as heavy as other cakes with sugar syrup."

Ingredients

  • eggs - 4
  • sugar - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • flour - 1 cup (250 g)
  • baking powder - 1
  • syrup
  • milk - 4 1/5 cups (1 L)
  • sugar - 4/5 cup (180 g)
  • vanilla - 1 or 1 tbsp orange zest

How to make

Beat the eggs and sugar well to a fluffy cream. Sift the flour with the baking powder and add it in portions, while stirring with a spatula.

Pour the mixture into a rectangular form with baking paper and put it to bake in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven until ready. Take it out of the oven and leave the ready cake to cool completely.

To make the syrup, heat up the milk with the sugar and vanilla or orange flavors. Stir until everything becomes homogenized and leave to cool a little.

Pour the syrup over the cold cake, then leave it to cool completely again.
