How to make
First, set aside 1 white from the eggs for smearing. I made the dough with the ingredients listed but if you'd like to bake more of it, double the ingredient quantities.
Stir the yeast in the warm milk with 1 tbsp sugar and leave it to bubble for 10 min.
Pour it into the beaten eggs with the sugar, add the oil, rum, liquid vanilla and knead a medium-soft dough.
Knead and stretch it briefly, leave to rise in a warm area for 40 min, covered with a towel.
Divide it into 3 parts. With oiled hands, form each one into a long wick and weave the 3 of them about each other.
At that point, shape it into a wreath in an oiled form. Let rise for another 30 min., smear it with beaten egg white, sprinkle with sugar, stick the raisins in it.
You can add jam or chocolate to any of the wicks to make it even tastier.
Bake the panettone in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven to a nice crisp for 40 min. Anything mom makes is always delicious!
