How to make
Wash the chicken, cut it into pieces if using a whole one; if using chicken legs, cut them in 2.
Chop the garlic finely, heat the saucepan on the stove and add the oil and garlic to braise for a few seconds. Remove the pan from the stove, put the brown sugar and spices in. Stir everything.
In the oven dish you intend to bake, put a little oil, arrange the chicken meat, put the chopped peppers in between the pieces, squeeze on lemon juice.
Set aside a little of the garlic mixture, sprinkle the rest over the chicken meat. If you like spicy, add 2-3 chili peppers between the meat pieces.
Put the oven dish in a preheated 340°F (170 °C) oven for 1 hour, without pouring in any liquid. The chicken will release its own grease, which is enough for it to bake.
Keep an eye on it during baking. If the meat begins to burn on top, cover it loosely with aluminum foil.
After 1 hour, take the oven dish out, grate cheese generously over the baked meat, sprinkle with the set aside garlic mixture and bake again until the cheese melts.
