"They call them cruffins - croissant muffins. But whatever the name, we`ll be eating them with pleasure."

Ingredients

  • flour - 1 1/5 cups (300 g)
  • honey - 1 tbsp (15 g)
  • milk - 2/3 cup (160 ml)
  • yeast - 1 packet, dry
  • sugar - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 g)
  • butter - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 g) + 1/2 cup (130 g) for smearing
  • vanilla - 3 packets
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • jam - strawberry
measures

How to make

Heat the milk a little. Dissolve the honey and yeast in it. Stir well and cover it. Leave aside for 10-15 min. to bubble.

In the meantime, sift the flour and pour it into a deep bowl. Make a well in it and once the yeast has become effervescent, pour it into the well. Stir well.

Next, add the sugar, salt and vanilla. Add the melted butter. Knead a soft dough. Cover the dough and let it rise for 20-30 min.

The dough needs to double in volume. Once it rises, divide it into 9 balls. Roll out each ball of dough into a rectangle. Smear it with melted butter on top and wrap into a roll.

Do this for all of the balls of dough. Cut each roll down the middle and wrap it into a rose/snail shell, while placing the ends on the underside. Smear muffin cups with butter and put the cruffins in them. Leave them to rise for about 20-30 min.

Bake in a preheated 350°F (175 °C) oven for about 25-30 min. Once they're ready, take them out of the oven and leave them to cool. Once they're cooled, fill them with strawberry jam or other kind of jam.
