How to make
Beat the butter with the powdered sugar and gradually add the eggs. Add the flour, sifted with the baking powder, and knead a dough.
Divide the dough into 2 parts. Lay out one onto a buttered cake form. Smear it generously with marmalade on top and sprinkle with crumbled walnuts.
Put the other half in the freezer briefly, then grate it onto the other half.
Put the Gateau Cake to bake in a highly heated oven. Once it cools, sprinkle it with powdered sugar and serve.
