Ingredients

  • sauerkraut - 1 medium
  • rice - 1 1/2 cups
  • onions - 1 head
  • tomato paste - 1 1/5 cups (300 g)
  • broth - 4 - 5 cups
  • black pepper
  • paprika - 1 tsp
  • parsley
  • savory
  • cloves - 1 - 2 buds
  • salt
  • oil - 2/3 cup (150 ml)

How to make

Chop up the sauerkraut and put it in the pot. Pour a little oil over it, sprinkle it with a little of all the spices and mix. Heat a little more oil in a pan on the stove and lightly sauté the finely chopped onion. Add the pre-washed and drained rice and stir with a wooden spatula until fried.

Season it with spices as well, add it to the sauerkraut and stir. Dilute the tomato paste in hot broth (chicken or vegetable) and pour it all in the pot with the liquid. Close and put to bake for 40 minutes on high heat, and then another 1 hour on slightly lower heat.

Finally, remove the lid and bake until tanned.
