How to make
The onion, carrot, garlic and pepper are very finely chopped or grinded.
The olive oil is heated a moderate heat and all of the vegetables are fried/stewed well in it. Finally, pour in the tomato puree and cook everything for another 2-3 minutes.
During this time, the potatoes are peeled and cut into medium-sized pieces. They are added to the rest of the vegetables to fry lightly while constantly stirring and pour 5 cups (1.2 L) of hot water or fish broth and as much salt as you like. Boil for 15-18 minutes and add more broth or water.
Add the spices, clams and shrimp without peeling them. Boil for another 5 minutes and remove them from heat. If desired, soup noodles (2-3 handfuls) can be added during these 5 minutes.
The soup is covered with a lid and left for 20 minutes before serving - this way the seafood will release all of its flavors into the broth.
