Ingredients

  • flour - 4.2 oz (120 g) + for sprinkling
  • egg whites - 1 pc. (XL)
  • butter - 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • powdered sugar - 3.2 oz (90 g)
  • vanilla sugar - 0.35 oz (10 g)
  • cinnamon - 1 pinch
  • orange essence - 2 drops
  • dark chocolate - about 1 oz (30 g) for decoration
  • white chocolate - about 1 oz (30 g) for decoration
  • red confectionery paint - a few drops

How to make

The confectionery paint and white chocolate can be replaced by red candies of the appropriate shape for the reindeer nose.

Mix the butter at room temperature with the powdered sugar. You can do this by hand or with a mixer. Add the egg white, vanilla sugar, cinnamon and essence and beat until a smooth mixture is obtained.

Sift the flour in parts to the mixture and when it becomes thick, knead by hand, until the flour is fully absorbed, by adding a little more, if necessary, to make the dough compact but not too hard.

Shape it into a ball, wrap it in cling film and leave it in the fridge for about 30 minutes to harden.

On a floured surface, roll it out into a thin crust (3 mm thick), keep in mind that the cookies will not rise, so don't make them too thin.

Arrange them in a tray on baking paper and bake at 360°F (180°C) in a preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.

After taking them out, leave them cool and harden and in the meantime, melt the two types of chocolate in a water bath. As soon as they liquefy, dissolve the paint in the white chocolate and with a thin toothpick drop a round, slightly flattened nose in the middle of the cookie. From the dark chocolate draw eyes and horns with another toothpick, guided by the pictures. It is very easy and fun. If instead of white chocolate and paint you decided to use candies for noses, then drip a little chocolate and stick the candies on it.

Leave the chocolate to harden, so that it not to spoil the decoration and serve them on the festive table or in the company of morning Christmas coffee. 24 cookies can be made out of these ingredients.
