Ingredients

  • flour - 9 oz (250 g)
  • sugar - 5.3 oz (150 g)
  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • cream - 4/5 cup (200 ml)
  • oil - 1/3 cup (80 ml)
  • baking powder - 1 tbsp (10 g)
  • apples - 3 pcs. (large)
  • vanilla - 2 powders (each 0.2 g)
  • rum - 2 tbsp.
  • brown sugar - 1 tbsp.
  • powdered sugar (for sprinkling)

How to make

Put the eggs and sugar in a bowl and beat with a mixer into a fluffy cream. Pour the oil and cream in a thin stream, while stirring with a spoon.

Sift the flour with the baking powder, a pinch of salt and the two vanillas. Add it in portions to the liquid mixture.

Cut one apple into cubes and pour 2 tbsp. of rum over it. Line a 8.5″ (22 cm) cake tin with a piece of baking paper.

Pour half of the mixture, spread the sliced ​​apple on top and cover with the remaining mixture.

Place sliced ​​apples on it. Sprinkle with 1 tbsp. of brown sugar. Bake the cake at 340°F (170°C) in a preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes.

Check it with a wooden skewer to see if it is fully baked. The baked apple cake is sprinkled with powdered sugar while it's still warm.
