"Something sweet for the soul? Here are some syrupy strudels"

Ingredients

  • filo pastry sheets - 1 package (1.1 lb /500 g/)
  • walnuts - 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • biscuits - 7 oz (200 g)
  • apples - 2 cups (grated)
  • cinnamon - 1 tbsp.
  • butter - 5.3 oz (150 g)
  • sugar - 2.2 lb (1 kg)
  • water - 4 cups (1 L)
measures

How to make

Grind the biscuits in a blender and finely crush the walnuts.

Melt the butter and spread it on a filo pastry sheet. Fold it in half and smear it again with the butter.

At one end, put the biscuits and on top of them - the apples. Sprinkle with walnuts, cinnamon and roll the filo pastry sheet into a roll.

Put it in a greased baking pan and cut it into pieces with scissors. Do the same with the remaining filo pastry sheets.

Bake in a heated oven at 360°F (180°C) for about 30-40 minutes. Remove the baking pan from oven and leave the rolls to cool.

Put the water with the sugar in a pot on the stove and boil, until the syrup thickens. Pour the prepared syrup over the strudels and leave them to absorb the syrup.

The small syrupy strudels are very tasty - try them!
