How to make
Cut the tomatoes into thick slices. If you wish, you can peel them in advance. Cut the mozzarella in circles.
Peel an avocado, grate it in half and remove the seed. Cut the two halves into long, relatively thick pieces.
In a large plate, arrange at an angle and alternately pieces of tomato and mozzarella. Put the avocado on them and place the rest of it on the side in the arrangement you like.
Spread the basil pesto on the salad, sprinkle with olive oil and salt and if desired, a little balsamic vinegar.
The caprese salad would go well with a little olive pate or lightly roasted pine nuts.
On top, decorate the tomato salad with fresh basil leaves for a better look and irresistible taste and aroma.
