The sauerkraut leaves are refined by taking off the hard part, then placing a steak on each one, then thinly sliced cheese on top, ham, mushrooms cut into slices, and a slice of pickle, all sprinkled with ground black pepper and savory. The sauerkraut leaves are rolled up into wraps.
Dispense in clay pots, add hot water to cover them, sprinkle with paprika and bake at 390°F (200 °C) for about 2 hours. Serve with white or red wine.
