Ingredients

  • apples - 1, medium
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • jam - 1 jar, thick
  • milk - 1 cup, 3%
  • eggs - 3
  • sugar - 3/4 cup
  • baking powder - 1/2 packet
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • oil - 2/3 cup
  • flour - 2 2/3 cups
  • walnuts - 1/2 cup, chopped, if desired

How to make

Grate the apple and mix it with the cinnamon. Dilute the jam in the milk. You can substitute the milk with water or sweet cream, diluted with water.

Beat the eggs with the sugar until whitening, then add the jam with milk, oil, baking powder and baking soda and gradually the sifted flour.

If the mixture is too thick, add a little less flour. Finally, mix it with the grated apple and walnuts if desired. Put the mixture into a greased and lightly floured tray.

Put the cake with apples and jam to bake in a 390°F (200 °C) heated oven. After 10 minutes, reduce the heat to 360°F (180 °C) and bake finished.

Sprinkle the ready cake with powdered sugar or vanilla sugar, if desired.
