Bourdain worked in different restaurants over the years. His final decision to become a chef Bourdain made in 1988 when he became the executive chef at the bistro Brasserie Les Halles. He is one of the most influential chefs in the world.

4. Julia Child - she was just 32 years old when she turned into an icon for world famous chefs. She moved to Paris with her husband in 1948, where he supported her decision for signing up for the famous culinary school Le Cordon Bleu. After her return to the US in 1961 she published a book on the art of French cooking there.

5. Charlie Trotter - born in 1959 in Illinois. After he got a degree in political science, he worked in over 40 restaurants in Europe. Upon his return to the US, he decided to open his own restaurant. Inspired by Frédy Girardet, he continues to work as one of the top chefs in the world.
