Cobs of corn

Corn is very tasty and nutritious and is suitable for salads, soups and dishes, as well as for direct consumption.

It is important to boil it properly so that it does not lose its nutrients and at the same time has a pleasant taste that you and your loved ones can enjoy.

You can boil corn in two ways - on the cobs or just the grains. Both boiling methods have their advantages in terms of taste and serving.

Corn turns out very tasty when boiled on the cobs. You can boil the cobs whole or them in half - it all depends on how you want to serve them.

When cut in half in advance, the corn on the cobs are more convenient to serve as a side dish. When whole, they are a favorite delicacy of children and adults - you just need to sprinkle them with salt and eat them.

To boil the cobs of corn, first clean them from the leaves and from the so-called hair - the long yellow threads. Then arrange the cobs close together, in order to fit more, fill the pot with water so that it covers them completely and cover them with a few of the leaves.

Covering with leaves guarantees a richer taste of corn.

Place a plate on top to hold them in place, cover the pot with a lid and place it on the hob. Boil them for about half an hour until the grains have softened. If the corn is dairy, it will take no more than 15-20 minutes to cook.

Serve the corn warm. You can grease the cobs with a little butter before sprinkling them with salt. The halves of the cobs are a good garnish for roasted meat and they are also suitable for complementing vegetable dishes.

You can also boil corn grains. To do this, remove the grains from the cob and put them in boiling salted water. Boil them for about 15-20 minutes until they have softened. Remove the grains with a slotted spoon to strain them from the water.

You can then serve the corn with butter, dill and salt as a side dish to meat or fish dishes or simply as a hors d'oeuvre.

The boiled grains of corn can also be used to complement salads, meat dishes, vegetable dishes and delicious soups.
