How To Make Powdered Sugar?

We often use powdered sugar to decorate many pastries. Every chef is faced with a challenge when they find out that the there's a finished pastry, but one of the elements for its decoration - powdered sugar, has been used up and they forgot to buy it. But this has its easy solution.

To make powdered sugar at home, it's a good idea to use a regular homemade coffee grinder, a household chopper or blender. As the sugar crystals are very small, grinding them in the appliance requires fine diligence and diligent patience.

If you do not have any of the appliances mentioned above, you can use a household mortar and pestle to grind the sugar into powder. It is best to pour it into a ziploc or wrap it in kitchen paper so that it does not scatter.

If you do not have a pestle, just use a thick and tall water glass without a handle to use it as a rolling pin. With it, "roll out" the sugar several times, which is placed between two layers of baking paper.

It is a good idea to add other confectionery spices such as cinnamon or vanilla to the powdered sugar. They further enrich the taste of the sugar and make the desserts much sweeter and more aromatic.
