"Today we`ve got a slightly different panettone with lemon zest and an irresistible flavor for you."

Ingredients

  • flour - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • eggs - 5 (1 egg white for smearing)
  • milk - 4/5 cup (200 ml)
  • sugar - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • yeast - 1 cube
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • butter - 2/5 cup (100 g)
  • oil - 2/5 cup (100 ml)
  • lemon rinds - of 1 lemon, grated

How to make

Heat the milk and put 1 pinch sugar and the yeast in it.

Break the eggs, beat them with the remaining sugar after setting aside 1 egg white. Sift the flour and make a well.

Put the 1st 2 mixtures in it, leave the resulting dough to rise.

Then knead it with a mixture of melted butter, oil and lemon zest. Knead until the dough absorbs everything.

Use your imagination to shape the panettone, smear it with the egg white. Leave to rise a bit longer and bake in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven.
