"We want to break the illusion that vegans eat only lettuce and nuts. You can actually make unbelievably tasty vegan dishes and cakes and this one is one of them"

Ingredients

  • flour - 1 cup (225 g)
  • cocoa - 2 2/3 tbsp (40 g)
  • brown sugar - 1/2 cup (120 g)
  • himalayan salt - 1 - 2 pinches
  • baking powder - 1 packet
  • water - 1 cup, or apple juice
  • apples - 4.5 oz (130 g), or apple puree
  • sunflower oil - about 1/4 cup
  • lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • vanilla - 1 packet
  • cinnamon - 1 tsp
  • apples - 1 cup, peeled and diced
measures

How to make

Heat the oven to 300°F (150 °C) and cover an 8″ (20 cm) per side, square baking dish with baking paper. You can oil the paper a little bit.

Steam the apples and make an apple puree or use a ready-made one. Mix the flour with 1/2 the sugar and then the cocoa, salt and baking powder in a bowl.

Mix the water or fruit juice with the apple puree and add them to the flour mixture.

Mix the well cleaned and diced apples with the remaining sugar and the cinnamon. Add them to the other ingredients and stir everything very well.

Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and put it to bake for about 30 min. or until a toothpick comes out dry when you poke the cake with it.

Decorate the Vegan Cake with Cocoa and Apples as desired.
